KGW8 Reporter Cristin Severance and photojournalist Gene Cotton spent the 2019-20 school year in our halls, classrooms and homes uncovering the stories of the students, staff and families that make up the Woodlawn community.
Most recently, they talked to four of our educators– Mr. Clegg (1st grade), Mr. Lowery (1st grade), Mary Evans (Family Coordinator) and Mr. Blair (4th grade)– to get their take on the Black Lives Matters movement, the state of our education system for teachers of color, the Portland protests and bringing the national conversation about race into their classrooms.
