The Woodlawn community is lucky to have a fish tank enthusiast, Tim Rys (Rys rhymes with fish) among us. Tim, whose son Charlie is in 4th grade, keeps lots of beautiful fish at home, and is now volunteering his time and expertise to bring some of that fishy magic to school. Tim is working with Ms. Audel, who requested help with the tanks; PTA funds were used to purchase new fish, and Tim donated some of the equipment. So where can you find our local fish? Thank you to all our families and community members who supported the 3rd Annual Willamette Valley Pie Company pie sale fundraiser! We sold 307 pies and raised $1,100 for the PTA General Fund, which supports the PTA Staff Fund, the Staff Resilience Room, and PTA events (such as Movie Nights, First Friday Morning Coffee Cart, Celebrate Woodlawn, 5th Grade Promotion, just to name a few)! Fall Staff Appreciation Luncheon Recap

Thank you so much to all our Woodlawn community members who showed their school spirit and staff support by providing such yummy food to the Woodlawn Elementary school staff on Friday, November 5th! Staff were so grateful to have such delicious lunch options and really felt the love from the school community. Over 30 families brought soup (7 different kinds, including vegan and gluten free options!), various types of bread, salads, beverages, and desserts! Thank you to the PTA Staff Resilience Room Chair, Bettina Hammersly-Rhys for coordinating this awesome event. We are Wildcat strong!

How do we build community when we can’t be together?

In ordinary times, we would be looking forward to regular Woodlawn school events, assemblies and celebrations. We would be finding our own way to connect with and get involved in our school and our communities.
